how big is the H-pipe you have on yours? The guy who did mine told me he recommended going with a X-pipe on mine for like 130. Not sure how big though

I think 2" was used. This is what fit over the stock piping after it was flared at the ends in order to keep velocity at a max and turbulence from different size pipes down. An x pipe would be better in terms balancing exhaust pulses, but from what ive heard most x pipe set ups regardless of the vehicle led to a slightly raspier sound. The h pipe sounds smooth as hell while driving and never has a hint of rasp in it while under load.

What benefits do you recieve from going H-PIPE as opposed to a true dual exhaust without the H-PIPE?

So in other words, what are the differences between having the pipe in the middle connecting each opposing exhaust pipe and not having it there?

Hey! I just had Custom H-Pipe like yours but the differrent is that i already had BERK HFC's on.
After test drive it's totally faster but the sound was horrible.Maybe becuase
First: I got Berk HFS's installed
Second: I use Stock Muffler not Magnaflow like yours.
is that possible. Mine's sound bad and alittle raspy.
If you can recommend would be appreciate.
I was thinking to either
- get Magnaflow 2 inlet/2 outlet for resonator or
-change back to Stock Y-Pipe

many Thanks in advance.

If you noticed an improvement with the h pipe then i wouldnt get rid of it. I noticed an immediate increase in performance after just the h pipe, so i know it was a worthwile mod. Mine doesnt sound raspy at all at any rpms. Sometimes i find myself just driving with the radio off just to hear the exhaust. I still have the stock cats on mine but ive noticed on most cars that freeing up exhaust while still using the stock mufflers tends to lead to a really raspy sound. I bet with some free flowing mufflers magnaflows the exhaust will sound just right without being annoyingly loud. I also still have my stock resonators too.

Nice. Looks like the Borla system for 1/3 the cost.

i had my car up on the rack at work yesterday...if i was to do an H-pipe and leave my resonators. i wonder if i should enlarge the pipes after the resonators to the mufflers. it looks so small.

It is small. But with a true dual setup the exhaust flow is much higher, which is obvious from the apparent increase in performance, so increasing the diameter of the pipe may just lead to more drone and raspyness that a lot of people have been experiencing after they switch to 2.25" and larger diameter pipe

+1 with EnviedG35 with just transform to H-Pipe it's enough for airflow
however you should have either of Magnaflow Muffler ready for your H-Pipe
and don't do it if you already had HFC's installed. It'll be too da'n loud.
I figured the different bet.EnviedG35 and mine was the HFC's.The HFC's was created much much more airflow than the stock. The airflow that cameout from the muffler was totally FLOW!! and i meant it FLOWW!!! maybe
x3 of stock. The Stock Y-Pipe actually it help created pressure before release it to the muffler and it's help keeping the noice down and nice tone.
That's it i will put mine Y-Pipe back and just change the Magnaflow muffler 12225.will keep you guy update.

x-pipes are much more efficient and a tad quieter than h-pipes. magnaflows dual-in / dual-out resonator takes advantage of this.
