Hi All,

I just finished my system! it sounds great!!! I just need to tweak my amp a bit, set the gains, xover, etc.

I did NOT use any LOC. I tapped the wires before the amp and spliced them to some rca cables. I plugged them into a set of speakers just to check that i was getting a signal, and i did. Now its just plugged into my amp.

For the remote turn on wire, i checked the voltage, and it reads at ~13V, which is enough to turn on my extra amp.

as for the diagrams i used to tap the wires, i searched on google for our cars manual. Just get the AV.pdf file, and search for the bose amp input/output wires.

Also, i am able to control the bass of my aftermarket subs with the Bose headunit. Now the bass controls all the subs in my car. So no need for a bass ****.

I assume this is because i tapped before the amp and not after.

I do not have any problems with too much bass at low volumes.

I hope this helps anyone else trying to add a sub to their amazing cars!!

thanks for the tips...I have been wanting to do this for a while but got stuck right from the get-go of getting the power wire in through the firewall!

Thank you G35nerd and everyone else who provided tips in this thread. I am not experienced and it took me several hours this afternoon, but I did it!

Went in through the large grommet to the left of the battery. Used fish tape to help. Removed the side panels and threaded the wire in the wire channel. Under the back seat, the wires go into a channel but I could not get my fish tape top go anywhere, I instead went up the side of the seat and it leads to the trunk. Per G35nerd, I looked at the AV.pdf and got the Bose amp terminal schematic. I decided to tap into the woofer line (line level from bose to powered subwoofer in back--baby blue (+) purple (-)) for just one RCA and used the woofer turn-on line (small grey) for the remote turn on--all three are on the harness that goes to the powered woofer in the center rear. After leveling the sub to where I like it, the sound is great!

Here are a few pics I took. Thanks again all--am very pleased and grateful!!!

After removing the some trim pieces, used the large grommet that goes down into the passenger side footwell. did not have to remove the glovebox, but did remove the trim piece below it.

Car already has a channel underneath the side panel for wire.

Pulling on the side of the rear seat, you will see a large opening to the trunk.

thats great! Im glad i was able to help.

Also, make sure you put some silicone around the hole you made in your gromment. I believe the rain water gets funneled into that area, so make sure its water proof, otherwise you will have a wet interior.

With the trim out, it woulda been a quick 5 minutes more to throw in some illuminated kick plates.
Nice job!
