Idle vibration
Had it since about 20K km's, now i'm at about 31K km's. I've noticed something though. If I start the car (cold start) and drive slowly around (shifts below 2.5-3K), this does not happen. however as soon as you start to shift at around 3K or more it starts happening. I was going to leave the car at Infiniti for them to check it but they were very busy when I went and they said it will take a while. Since I'm traveling soon I thought I'd leave it until I come back.
So today I decided to clean the mass air flow sensors and tinkered with the throttle bodies. The MAF was simple. I disconnected the harness from each, then the mounting screws. The MAF slide right out of the intake tube. I then used CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner. Reinstalled. Careful to install the correct air flow direction.
Then I used CRC Throttle Body cleaner without removing throttle body. I didn't soak the TB but sprayed just enough around the butterfly to get some runoff. I wiped it as it ran off. I didn't open the butterfly itself.
After these efforts, the idle was better. Prior to cleaning, my idle when in gear and stopped would drop to 600rpm which caused the car to vibrate. After the cleaning, the idle in gear was 650. The idle in park is 700ish which is considered in the spec. The specs say a G35X with AT in park or neutral should be 650 +/-. I didn't reset the ECU or perform any of the learning functions. Tomorrow I will drive the car significantly and see if the result hold up.
