K&N Typhoon CAI vs Stillen 3G CAI for '07 G?

I am trying to decide which one to go with- from what I have ascertained on all the threads, the Stillen 3gCAI is very difficult to install, cutting is involved (and some rubber tubing for support/rubbing). The upside is the Stillen 3g looks great, has some nice HP gains once you hit the 5500 rpm mark with nice resonates at that level.

Seems the K&N Typhoon is very easy to install with no cutting or other installation mods- plus it has some decent HP gains at or around 4500 rpm, with nice resonates at that level and above.

Price wise (on Stillen's site):

Stillen 3G CAI= $489
K&N Typhoon= $428

Any advice, suggestions are all welcome.

If i was you i wouldn't pay that much for an Intake.. i have the JWT intake and it sounds amazing and there is a small power gain from 3500-7600 RPM.. contact Kyle and importpartspro.com and he will give you a deal you can resist...

But if you must spend 400+ on an intake i would go for the 3rd Gen stillen intake hands down.. looks sick, sounds good, and gives nice power.

That's a lot of coin to drop on an intake, especially when there is little gain up high and actual loss at lower RPMs, where HP and Torque are most often enjoyed.
We're basically buying a sound right now.

Don't get me wrong. My tail is wagging at the Stillen 3G but I'll wait for a killer sale.
No way I'm paying full price.

I did the install of the gen 3 and I do like it very much. This morning it was around 40 and good it felt so good when i punched it getting on the interstate on the way to work. The install was not easy at all but if you have 3 hours and you want a nice intake I don't think you can go wrong. I am ready to see what stillen said the torque curve with the new intake is. i think when it's hot i may lose a little low end. (due to the vsd) anyways good luck with whatever you get!

I can't speak for the stillen 3g but I do have the K&N. I'm pretty sure my ecu has finally adjusted and this thing sounds amazing. Quiet in idle but the minute you hit the gas it will growl like hell (great sound-throaty and aggressive). Definitely lost no power - if anything i gained it around 4k rpms and all through the high rpms. No loss of power in the low geared rpms.

The K&N's are cheaper than $428. More like $359
