My guess is that the kit will replace all pipe from either the cat back or the y pipe back. The design will most likely be a single turbo so a Y section is mandatory. Also the Y has to come in early to allow room for the return air intake pipe.

Basically, my thinking is that the only thing that you could salvage from the FI kit will be the sticker.

Do you understand how a turbo charger works?

It uses exhaust gas to spin a turbin which is connected by a shaft to a compressor wheel which forces pressurized air into your engine. all turbo chargers are connected to your exhuast. a rear mount is just easier to install and alowws your car to run a bit cooler because of the long piping. The only downside is increased lag. Lag in increased because of the distance the exhaust has to flow to spool the turbo.

but wouldn't the turbo need to be connected up with the air intake at some point in the beginning? and does this mean the Inter-cooler will be mounted up front and piped all the way back to the exhaust? I think I need to see a clearer picture of how the kit mounts.

an intake pipe is connected from the turbo in the back all the way to the front intercooler.
I personally don't think lag would be such a big issue. The flow is always there. I mean it's like a long water hose, when you first start it up, it take time for the water to travel from the beginning to reach the tip of the hose, however once the water gets out, increasing or decreasing the water is almost instant.

Well yeah I get you on that one, I was confused because I couldn't see any air feeds or anything. there's only one pic I can see showing the exhaust and it's not very clear, thanks for the clarification.....Now we just need someone to test it out

I talked to STS yesterday, and they said a couple of shops are custom fabing the universal STS kit for the 370Z. Shortly after the 370Z kits are finished it shouldn't be hard for us to have a kit made for our cars. It should only require a longer length of piping. I asked Freddy at STS about the 07+ sedan that was getting a STS kit installed on it, and he said it was actually a 370Z he was talking about! Oh well, hopefully with the debut of the 370Z we will have a kit in the near future.

^^ Not sure about the price now, but it wasn't cheap back when I was researching.

You guys in California might also consider the fact that STS has the best shot at CARB certification since the stock emmision system is retained. I was told they have a certified kit for the Corvette.
