Yeah I probably could yank it off, thanks for the help, I wouldn't have liked recieveing it half bent lol

yeah of course i mean when its not installed...when the cat is out of the car if u shake it around, does the metal wire part inside the actual cat shift around or does it stay completely still..

It should sit snug inside the canister. If it doesn't I would suspect the vibrations will cause it to break up. Every cat I've ever removed was snug as a bug in a rug.

Looks to me like they melted. EGT's got too high for them to take and they broke down. I've not seen it turn blue but I've not seen a failure on a 'high flow' cat either..

melted cat

its not blue...its just from my flash on my phone....and it def. didn't get too hot...i havent tracked the car or taken it over an hour drive in a long time, or even beat on it...i went to the store came home on the highway made a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear pull and came into town to realize it just didn't sound the same and then put it away and pulled them yesterday morning..

as far as sounding different it, was just quite a bit quieter all of a sudden, and didn't have the same deep growl and little pops on deceleration
