I'm thinking about HFC's next, and am still a bit hesitant considering some other members experiences with them on a 5AT car. I'm looking for more power (sound is a plus), so I've deciding on this route versus an exhaust system as the next route to go.
So, if you've installed them on your 5AT G, please answer the following:
1. Brand? (Berk or FI or other)
2. CEL or none?
3. Approximate length of time since you've had them installed?
4. Stock exhaust or A/M exhaust?
5. Labor charge you paid (so I can get a rough idea, I know how much it costs here)?
6. Where did you purchase the HFC from and when?
7. Amount you paid?
I already got a few quotes for the part but am still up in the air about either brand. Thanks to all who respond.

I have Berk HFCs
I got no CELs,
I've had them for over 2000 miles/got them since feb
I have X pipe with Tanabe exhaust
200 bucks installed at my infiniti dealership
I got them from the group buy through hpauto
i believe it was like 400 bucks or something back then.

Did you both have the exhaust at the time the HFC went on, or was it installed afterward?

this is some nice encouraging info though im a MT, but im still on the undecided side of HFC's as i want some more power and a bit more growl. Keep em coming!

i have the Berks with a stock exhaust, and it growls a bit more, but honestly i wouldn't do it if i was you until you get an aftermarket exhaust. reason being that the HFC cause the heat shield or something in the stock exhaust to rattle. its an annoying sound and it kind of ruins it. as soon as you hit like 3500-4000rpm, you can hear something hissing/rattling under there.

I have FI HFC's and love them!!. You can actually feel more power. Sound is pretty good with the stock exhaust but rattle with the stock y-pipe is real when WOT at 3500 rpm, so I remove the y-pipe and put a custom h-pipe with stock exhaust. Price from Tony of FI was good and their support is great.
I have some P0420 and P0430 Cel after the bully dog reflash on premium, but in stock they dont trigger.
My next mod will be magnaflow x-pipe 11385 with Tanabe Medallion mufflers.
Enjoy

You know so far I have had no rattles what so ever, didn't they remove the stock heat shield with the HFCs? and how long did it take for the rattles to become apparent? because I've only had mine on for a month

So, no one other than ANMVQ had the hesitation problem (which iirc was an o2 sensor problem)?

Is the red circled area the shield you're talking about?

I don't see anything else in this picture that could rattle. That is of course unless the piping is so thin that it's resonating, but I doubt it:

**edit** There actually looks like there's some type of cover over the section of the y-pipe. That may be it too.

Hmmm, well it would be pretty hard for me to take a clip, since I'm usually alone and got no friends Originally Posted by Gdrift

, lol j/k I could try one day, but don't hold your breath as I don't think I'd find the time any time soon. Quote:

Hmm Thanks for the pics dude, but I can't view the first pic, it just shows up as a red X. I think I might need to use C-proxy to view it (cause I'm at work and I think it's blocking me from viewing it) I'll get back to you once I get back home.

EDIT!!!: I just refreshed the page and I can see the pic, ok I was actually referring to the OEM HFC heat shields, I thought that's what he was talking about. Mine still has the same heat shield circled in red above, but so far no rattles (maybe it just needs some time to become apparent)
One more thing, are those stock cats on the exhaust above?
