Cleaned out my KN filters

decided to clean out my KN filters from my stillen intake.

took the small box of oxy clean and 2 2liter bottles of selzter water poured both in a bucket and dumped the filters in the bucket i let them soak for a few mins. then took them out and applied the kn filter cleaner spray to the filters waited a couple mins and put them back into the bucket. after about 15 took them out and rinsed them off with clean water and good as new. now im just going to re oil them and let that dry overnight and put it back in the am.
here are some pics.

Nice.

Did you wear a patented long sleeve blue shirt like Billy Mays, while working with your Oxy-Clean?

Looks good.

^^yupp thats how they came in the box they were duffed up.

how long did you wait until putting the filters back on?
i used the oil spray like 5 times spraying the whole filters till last nite. going to put them on tonite. so that will be almost 24hrs. but not gonna drive it till tomorrow morning. that should be long enough almost 2 days.

I thought you weren't supposed to actually wash it. I used the actual k&n cleaning kit that I bought from auto parts. Came out pretty good too.

they dont want u to. why? cuz u pay for their thing that doesnt work so aka u buy a new filter.

kn cleaner and oil was $12
oxy clean and 2 2liter sodas was $5

i used both but would of been enough with the $5 deal

i still used the kn cleaner and oxy clean. like i said no scrubbing or anything just waited 15 mins took it out and squeaky clean.

the carbonated water does have some carbonic acid in it which also would help to clean the filter.

I left it overnight and put them back on then drove 2 hours down to chicago hahaha.

Well I didnt' spray as many times as you, i went around once then went and found any parts that didn't soak up and was still white and sprayed it once more.

Just make sure they are dry, they should be dry to touch and just try flicking it with your wrist (Ie Hold it, and like flick the filter at like a kitchen towel or something and see if any of the oil goes off the filter) and see if anything comes off, if it does don't put them back on.
