Are HFC's worth it?

I currently have the Berks HFC's on my car along with a Stillen exhaust. It is definitely raspy especially when the car has been sitting. Do you think it's worth taking them off, or would I be losing a lot of performance gains? I am currently changing my exhaust to the Fast Intentions one, would that make a difference?

If you are looking solely at power gains, the HFC will help a little, especially since you have Osiris. If you factor in sound ... well, then that becomes a subjective decision.

How long have you had the HFCs or Exhaust on? Currently I've just got the Berks installed on stock exhaust but I'm waiting for the Invidia to arrive, I don't think it'll be too raspy, maybe the first few thousand kilos but it should be fine. Have you had them installed for long?

I do not ahve the Berks, but the FI, and no rasp for me. Also have the FI exhaust. Deep tone, with a rumble...but no rasp.

My BERK HFC were very raspy too. Alot of the G37 guys with the problem wrapped them with exhaust wrap. I did mine last week and it made a huge difference. Rasp is almost completely gone

Do you mean wrap it on the outside of the HFC with exhaust wrap? How can that help when the sound travels through the HFC and out the muffler?

I've wrapped and siliconed seals my exhaust almost from headers all the way to the tip to almost completely kill any rasp and reducing the rpm range where the droning occurs. The reason why it makes a difference is very similar to why certain test pipes sounds different even though they look and are designed identically. The thickness of the wall make a differences in how the sound travels inside of the tube or occasionally outside trough the wall. Adding wrap effectively becomes a dampener and a sound shield.

There are bunch of different heat wraps on the market, I prefer the Tomei ones for places where extreme bends are found. For other places, I prefer to use the new DEI wrap. As for the silicon seal, I also prefer the DEI's product.

ok so just to be clear the berk HFC fits well w/ stock catback? my plan is berk HFC + stock exhaust and possibly a magnaflow at the axleback.

The wrap changes the sound propagation though the exhaust. On my car I have eliminated about 80% of the rasp. I can only hear it with the door/window open.
