I have a question to all the guys that have installed the Injen SRI on their 07+ G's. I attempted to install the intakes on my G last night and could not get the passenger side intake to seal properly. For the most part the install went smooth, removing the stock set up is very quick and easy. The driver side installation went smooth as well. It just seemed that no matter how I installed the passenger side it would not seal properly and would hiss like a pissed off snake . It sounded as though the leak was at the connection to the OEM intake tube or the MAF sensor. But it's a bit challenging to leak check while the engine is whirring away right next to your ear. Can you guys offer any tips?

Are the supplied intake tubes side specific? I could not find any identifiable markings on them, so I didn't think so, and besides the driver side installed perfectly. How far onto the intake tube did you guys clamp? I moved things around from near the flared end (same as driver's side) to just about touching the MAF with no luck. So I went back to stock for now until I can figure this out.

Any input or tips would be greatly appreciated. Pictures would also help me if you guys have them handy.

They are not side specific.
I cleaned my parts thoroughly before installing them. Clamping everything down beforehand caused the aluminum tube to squirt out of the rubber tube when I clamped down. Once I cleaned everything up, it sealed perfectly.

 

I had similar issues with my install and this sound was caused by the intake tube being loose. I had issues with the tubes squirting out of the rubber while installing, so I just left them a little bit looser while fitting and tightened them up once everything was in place.

i cleaned all the piping (metal and rubber) to remove any oil residue or dust. Then i used some fine sanding paper on the surface where the rubber tube mounts onto the metal. then i mounted everything up and tightened the clamps at the end.
