Do you have the revup or non-revup engine?

I have a rev-up coupe seems like my test pipes (resonated) are what makes the noise. As soon as i put my OEM cats on the noise is gone. What a power loss when you put those damn cats back on. (The weld stitch for the hanger bracket on my driver-side test pipe cracked yesterday. lol sounded like a big block Chevy.)new pipes on order....

Could this just be normal and is the sound of the exhaust at that rpm range?
I have a 2008 XS. While the hissing sound may be somewhat normal as others have stated one place to look is at the foam seal for the air filters.

One of mine was basically gone when new and I had a hissing sound at various rpms and load from this source so this really should not be overlooked.
