Help with ECM plz!

Hello!

I have ’07 G35x sedan. I had issues with the cold engine start, so I went to my local dealer here, in Ukraine and he
found it to be ITB07-045a

This ITB is suitable for me, I had ECM part number: 23710-JK69A_V36_VQ35HR_4WD_AT_ACC
and I had to change it to ECM 23710-JK69C_V36_VQ35HR_4WD_AT_ACC. (Rev. A -> Rev. C).

My dealer found, that Rev. D is available for my car and upgraded my ECM to it.

But now, my throttle sensitivity seems to be very low with this Rev. D and I want it back to be high!

I found ITB08-017a that applies to “throttle sensitivity” and makes it lower and can be applied to
Rev. A, B, C – but it is not written, that it is Rev. D.

So the questions are:

1) Does Rev. D “fix” this “high throttle sensitivity” and Rev. C does not?
2) If my dealer will reprogramm my ECM to Rev. C, will I be happy?

Unfortunately, with the newer programming versions, you will lose your "throttle sensitivity".
It is a known issue, and the only way to get it back would be to have your old programming put back on (which I don't believe the dealer will do).

So the only revision of ECM, that has "high throttle sensitivity" is JK69A (rev.A of the ECM that I had)?

Then why does ITB08-017a (ITB about throttle sensitivity) apply to JK69A, JK69B and JK69C?

P.S. It is possible for me to upload revision JK69C to my ECM but I need to pay 70$ for it and I must be sure if it will give my throttle sensitivity back

I don't know enough to speak about these version numbers, but I do know that once the TSB is applied, there is no returning to the original.
My dealer also knows that someone is going to the hospital if they ever decide to apply that stupid TSB to my car... seriously.

If it happened to me, as soon as I made bail, I'd look into a custom ECU tune... most likely Technosquare or Cobb. I'd also throw a set of grounding wires in. The tune should provide enough gains to make up for the loss in throttle response.

Honda Accord
Throttle response is the only reason I still have my Rev.A on my G...

If I had upgraded, I'd probably had to purchase a Blitz Throttle Controller.

I agree with the other posters, once they reflash your ECU, they will not reverse it for you.
I had considered the reflash when I had my 07, but when I found out they could not reverse it if I wasn't happy with the loss of the sensitive throttle, I scrubbed the idea.

So, is there any info about which revision of the ECM has this "fixed throttle sensitivity": - Rev.B, Rev.C, both or none of them?

Rev.D has it for sure and Rev.A doesn't.

Today I came to my dealer and he said he can order and upload the older Rev. C of the ECM to my car, but he doesn’t know if it helps.

So, the question is – will this Rev. C (23710-JK69C) help me to get my “increased throttle sensitivity” back? Or was it already fixed in Rev. B, Rev. C, so only Rev. A had it? I don’t want to waste 70$ for nothing.

Sorry harp00n, I think the problem is, most of us don't really know what all these revisions will really do.

Yeah, you're forging new ground here... keep us posted on your outcome!

If all else fails, my plate frames have been known to increase throttle response and add 6hp.
(Shameless plug)

I had Rev.C and then upgraded to Rev.D. It definitely gave me the smoothest throttle which I was hoping for. Rev.A throttle was definitely the touchiest. IIRC, Rev.C throttle was somewhere between Rev.A and D, but a lot closer to D. That being said, I don't think you'll be completely satisfied even going back to Rev.C.

In addition, I also got an occasional stuttering idle problem (there's another thread discussing this) right after I got the update. I'm not 100% sure if the idle problem and the ECM update are related, but I think it is.

A couple of local dealers I've spoken to say they can't revert back to old programming, but your dealer says it can?!?!?! Which dealer is this? If they can really revert your ECM to an older programming, I think I need my dealer to give your dealer a call! Oh wait, you're in Ukraine.

So, Rev.C would be definitely better for me, if it has more "touchy" throttle and got fixed "cold start" issue problem, wouldn't it?

Well, my car adopted for my "spirited" driving, and maybe I am adopted too I think, for the winter (and it's REALLY cold and snowy here) it would be better to use "less sensitive" throttle.

But, at spring, I want to come back to this question so I gather information about differences between Rev. C and Rev. D of the ECM!
