i had the HKS hybrid dry filters and felt no difference in sound or performance. I didnt pay attention to gas mileage. You are just paying for "better" breathing, easier cleaning and not throwing away filters. Ive also had K&Ns on my previous cars and had no problems with MAF problems due to overoiling. If you follow the instructions and let it dry, you will be fine.

I actually just ordered the AFE Pro Dry S filters....

Do you have a link to these AFE filters? What's the cost vs. HKS?

Just wondering who your source was for the HKS.
Was it anyone local?

they are $50 a PIECE...keep that in mind. HKS comes with two for $70 (ebay)

I also use Wix (silver series looks the same as Nissan OEM) for about $5 (for 05 G sedan) as opposed to $18 at Nissan

Used K&N filters for years (mustangs, exploder, max, pathy, G's) without any issues, but kept hearing that they didn't filter as well.
Didn't 'feel' an gains. Probably better for cars with more mods.
Also, our 05 G sedan got worse MPG with a K&N.
(Exploder got better MPG.)

I was doing the same thing, you need to select the dryS in the drop down list.
