Problem with a coolant gauge

I've experienced some problems with my coolant temperature gauge, yesterday gauge for no reason suddenly began to show that my car is fully cold (driving for an hour in a traffic jam), then it rather fast began to rise to the normal position, but dropped again to zero and then returned to normal...

In 5 minutes it began to drop again and showed 1/3 of the temperature. I switched to N, floored the pedal several times and the temperature, with some hesitations, returned to the normal 1/2 position.

The problem is, when the gauge shows the car is cold, ECU thinks that my engine is cold, so the car runs like it is super-rich (normal mode during warm-up).

I think that it could be some defective wiring to the gauge in the engine, or maybe some air bubble in the coolant system?

Your thermostat could have one foot in the grave, hence the sporatic changes. If you had defective wiring, your temperature gauge wouldn't be working at all unless part of the wire was cut and sometimes making contact.

Not sure about the air bubbles. You would think that they would work themselves out of the system.

Man I have been having these issues for the longest time!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one. I have now been to the stupid dealer for over 15 times. Those idiots don't know anything!!! I have repeatedly told them to change my thermostat and the heat sensor. They keep telling me there isn't any issues... blah blah blah. They changed my cluster and thus I had to get towed back in twice because they messed something up with that. His final excuse was that the cold air hitting the engine makes the temperature drop lmaoooo. I am going to lemon my car now or receive compensation from them and just fix it myself. Oh and I parked once and the radiator began to overflow violently. Their explanation for this was an air bubble and also that my car should be fine now lmaooo. I must also tell you to never go to Miller Van Nuys infiniti
