in all honesty, you are better off trading your G in for a 6MT than swapping trannys because it's going to be a pain in the rear and hella of a lot of $$$ for parts and installation

This question has been asked a lot before and the general consensus for the answer is invariably that it's less time, expense, and hassle to just sell your car with the automatic transmission and buy another car with a manual transmission. You just can't come out ahead by doing a complete and proper transmission swap.

Even the interior needs a little swap since the center console is different.

1. Manual transmission from a 07+ 350Z or G35 sedan or 08+ G37
2. Flywheel, clutch, pressure plate pilot bearing
3. Concentric slave cylinder, master cylinder for the clutch and a long steel braided line to connect your master and slave cylinder, or you can buy a factory hard line, but the steel braided one would most likely be the easiest to source since you aren't in a country that even carries that model.
4. Clutch pedal assembly
5. Lower manual transmission harness
6. Manual transmission ECU
7. Shifter linkage
8. Center console from a Manual 07-08 Sedan
9. Brake pedal from a manual 07+sedan
10. A sticker stating that you aren't a ******* who drives an autotragic

I'm not sure about all this, but those were the parts I needed when I converted my uncle 240sx.

Cheers
Josh

I'm gonna have to swap my tranny at some point too. Gonna have to make a DIY on this.

Do the reverse lights need wire soldering and such or is it plug and play with the TCU and harness?
I remember I had to help a friend swap a manual in his auto E30 and we had to cut and solder wires for it.

Also, I think the 6MT has a different driveshaft. You'll also need the hand brake assembly and lines, the gauge cluster may need to be replaced since the 5AT says if you are in D, DS or M mode. you might also need a transmission mount.

EDIT: So I did a little more searching and it looks like you don't need a gauge cluster. However you will need to do an ECU reflash (TechnoSquare does it) which switches from 5At to 6MT data. Apparently the ECU data between the two transmissions is different.

EDIT2: you'll also need to connect the speed sensor from the 5AT to 6MT, I'm not sure if it's PNP. Also, for the driveshaft, you only need the front half shaft, i'm guessing the coupling in the middle is the same.
