NST Crank + Alternator Pulley Kit

http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitNis370.html

So NonStopTuning had this kit for a while now. Anyone tried it yet?

Here's the info i gathered so far:
On a 350Z HR (same engine) the peak gains shown was 5whp and 6lb-ft of torque. The maximum gain was at 4000-5000rpm with 10whp and 12lb-ft of torque. 3rd party dynos prove these numbers are true and consistent. The really cool thing is, the kit consists of a 10% underdrive crank pulley and 10% overdrive alternator pulley, so the alternator should provide the same power as stock. Furthermore, they are much lighter than stock (weight differences are in the link) and the kit only costs $200 for both. the gains are also evident throughout the entire power band, and not just in high RPMs.

Here's the dyno and overview...

FYI, VHR and HR engines have the same pulleys.

I've been using the Stillen lightened pulley for over a year now. I had the pulley and HFC's installed at the same time. Initially I saw a little gain in power but after about 300 miles I began to see a huge difference in power. I'm a big fan of aftermarket pulleys and I've been using them for years on several different cars without any problems.

q8ty..unless they warranty your engine, i wouldnt go for it. with my UR pulley that i had you would think they make parts for all different cars and applications and they have been around for some time now. and on the front page it says NO WARRANTY.

if anyone wants to try these thinking it will not happen well good luck to you. just want to let you know removing a stock pulley with a harmonic balancer on our cars the engine will vibrate while stopped causing the car to shake and even more when AC or heat is on. some cars it will not make a difference but on ours it does. and by a lot.

suby01, I haven't read the whole thread (quit a lot of pages there) but what exactly was the reason for the engine failure?
NST explained on the thread on how the engine has a crank balancer mounted inside the engine or something and the one on the pulley doesn't do much other than slightly reduce NHV for comfort purposes. i'd love to see what NST has to say about the engine failure.

I thought's Suby's problem was determined to be the "key way", not the pulley...I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure exactly what that means.

I read through that entire dyno link and there were no third party dynos. Just SOTP reviews, from "faster revving" to "increased mileage."

For me, the potential bad results far outweigh the potential good results.

^+1 for me i would'nt care if it offered me even 15hp, if it entails any sort of risks suby went through i will stay away from it cause i remember his headaches. However there a NUMEROUS people out there with such pulleys who never go through any problems.

It might be a one off case where the pulley just wasnt manufactured or installed right but that itself can be a big risk when you know it wont be covered under warranty if anything goes bad due to it IMO
