2008 Sedan Axle back exhaust

the sedan just sounds too tame stock.

I'm NOT worried about making more HP/TQ.
I didn't buy this car for that.

I DO want a louder/deeper growl out of the exhaust.

I looked all over youtube for a 2008 with an Axle back.

I see HKS and a few others make them.

Anyone have just an Axle back ?

Which one ? How does it sound ?

thanks,
kj

The Tanabe sounds good from what I've heard and read online. That's what I'm looking to get.

Nice, I'm jealous. Did you get it through a vendor?

Why not look into an Invidia Gemini (full exhaust) for a little more than the tanabe?

I'm not a huge fan of the sound from what I've heard.

FI and nothin' but FI.
The sound is intoxicating and so worth the investment.

If I had $1- for every time someone complimented the sound of my car...
Well, I'd have $20 - $30, but you get the idea.

That's what I really want, but I just dont know if I want to spend that much on an exhaust system.

Yes I did get it through a vendor. Check with Dan at Assaultech. Best price I found anywhere.

Just what the name implies, so everything after the "axle" in this case it replaces mufflers and tips. Catback is just everything after the "cat" or catalytic converter. Generally speaking axle backs are good for sound/looks not any noticeable gains.

Yeah.. the removal of the restrictive Y-Pipe and the addition of an X-Pipe makes a world of difference.
The stock exhaust weighs a ton too.

Pics of the stock setup...

I used to have just the Tanabe axle back system and loved the sound. I then added Berk HFC's and it made the axle back sound even better. Now I'm running a full cat back system with the Invidia Gemini and Tanabe together, but it's a little too loud for my taste. Sound similar to the FI set-up, if you like the way that sounds, but I'm gonna try adding another set of resonators to try and quiet it down a bit.

FYI... If you're looking for a good price on the Tanabe axle back, check with Rick at Riverside Infiniti... he had by far the best price when I bought mine and he also had it in stock!
