My brother "good willed" a motor on a 2003 Maxima just last week for OC issues. Had 98k miles but the owner bought the car there and had all the scheduled maintenance done there. I have found that typically of you spend money at a dealership they will take care of you. This isn't always the case but this is probably why his dealership has been top ranked in CSI amongst Nissan dealerships in the East Coast for quite a number of years.
The Toyota dealer said "yeb, there's no hit on the windshield but the car is out of warranty."
Washington DC..
Also, this is not something that they will just do for anyone. You have to have spent lots of money there already in service, it must be approved by the service director and dealership GM.

alright, step father went to the dealer today after a customer canceled an appointment, so pictures are up for those who were interested

That's a damn shame. Mine has 127k on it, and thankfully no engine problems.
Infiniti should do more for your step father than throwing him to the curb like this. The offer from the dealership is also insulting.

sorry to say but you are out of luck...its hard enough to get dealers to cover repairs under warranty much less none..its hard to have confidence in infiniti anymore. good luck with getting rid of that "INFINITI" buy a ford or chevy or even a honda. I love my G35 but stories like these scares the crap out of me.
I'm hoping this is bot something that occurs alot? I mean out of all the infiniti 07-08 g35. This is the 4th or 5th one in this forum. Is this a nationwide problem or just a few defects in engine design?
the thing that really sucks is the mechanic said it was clearly an engine defect and that there is no reason this should happen to one of these cars, then the company says sorry we forget about you after 70k...then the dealers offer was almost insulting
definitely sucks, i don't have that kind of money, but i can only imagine what throwing away near 40,000$ feels like
and we're not attacking infiniti, it was a great car with minimal complaints, just should have lasted longer, plain and simple.

Get your dealer to push back at Corporate in your favor too... if they value your business...
im about to take mine in for headgaskets....been chasing a cold start issue with spitting and sputtering....
found coolant leaking on both sides of the block under the manifolds.
