Idle timing issue/engine replacement

Looking through the internet I've seen the problem I'm having with my car is very common to other G35 Infinit owners (purchased 08). The car starting turning off while it was in the idle position or the power would shut off in the middle of the road and the wheel would lock. I've taken it in FIVE times without it being fixed. Now, the car is blowing smoking, and burning through oil like crazy. I've taken it to 2 dealerships and they are saying it is not under warranty. The car has had regular oil changes, pads, filters, tires, everything is needs. I had to file a complaint with the BBB because I don't know what else to do. Anyone had to deal with this?? Thanks so much.

This is actually the first I heard. If it is 08 model and your milage is in the range you should have powertrain warranty. What is your milage? Is it an 08 sedan?

It is the first I heard this.

How many miles do you have on your car?
What year is your car?
Did you do all your service with Infiniti?

I have an 08 and I have not had any problems at all.

Smoke usually means you have oil/coolant leaking into the engine.

edit. oops i was slow on the posting

I've asked another deal but it's in the system that they have denied the warranty so no luck. What do you mean "NA"
I've been told the smoking is caused by the car burning oil so fast.

How can they deny warranty work? It is under warranty.

That's crap. Check your warranty booklet. It should tell you. If it doesn't have a salvage title you should have warranty.

Like mentioned, unless you have a salvage title or a documented lack of maintanance, your case should be a warranty issue, especially since you've had to take it back for the same issues 5x.
I haven't heard of that problem you've experienced, or if I did it was so rare that I've forgotten about it. Definately take it up the ladder. Burning up oil is definately very serious and I wouldn't even drive it anymore.

Agreed,

Any aftermarket parts, and they try to blame that. My engine blew and the warranty was questionable... ALl i had was stillen exhaust and stillen intake.

However, they replaced it under warranty on mine. But i still had major problems.

Hence, i am picking up my 2010 G37S Coupe tommorrow!
