VDC Help Please

I just upgraded to an 07 g35x from a 91 lincoln. So everything in this car is completely new to me. When I take off quickly turning (ex. In front of traffic) vdc kicks in a seems to kill power which is an inconvenience. To drive aggresive, should I turn vdc off?? THX

there are a few stories on this forum of ppl who turned of VDC and got into accidents and such cause they were not able to control the uninterrupted power, VDC is provided so that you can turn it off for "spirited" driving if you believe you can control the car, else i would leave it as is... i myself turn it off only a few times when i have to get off the line quick or for some quick shifting.

Since you have X the control will be MUCH easier with vdc off compared to RWD, still do it at your own risk though

THX for your input. I did some experimenting tonight and the awd works great w/out the vdc. Hardly any slippage, but I do have new snow tires as well. I will rarely turn vdc off most likely just like u.

I would second the "do it at your own risk".. I have the AWD and tried turning off the VDC in a wet parking lot... I don't think the AWD system can engage or react fast enough and I spun the car around almost 360 degrees. I did this in an open parking lot or else the consequences could have been really bad.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but performance driving lessons are a great idea before getting too crazy in a 300hp car. The best mod you can make to the car is the driver.

if you have an X then you're less likely to loose control of your car, but having said that you better be familiar on how to control an AWD car.

Personally I love the RWD , but then again I've been driving a quattro for the past 5 years, and seeing how it NEVER rains here RWD is the way to go, enjoy the car, it's a load of fun
