Stillen Headers & Exhaust

Hey guys,

So I did a few searches to see if there are some reviews of Stillen Headers + Exhaust setup, but couldn't find much. I am planning to make this purchase by the end of the week, and just want to confirm a few questions.

Is the exhaust a lot more noticeable in sound with the headers installed or do the headers not affect the sound too much?

Like many people on this Forum, I am just concerned about a lot of drone and raspyness with the setup. I also currently have an Injen SRI. So the final setup would be Injen SRI + Stillen Headers + Stillen Exhaust.

I have read many reviews about the FI exhaust and Invidia q300 exhaust, and they all seem to be on the same level as the Stillen exhaust. Besides Stillen has a nice special going on right now for the holidays.

Please let me know what you all think.

Cheers!

Stillen is louder than FI and has a slight incabin drone, headers along with exhaust will make your car really loud, from what i read a long time back, the stillen header would hit the steering rack under spirited driving so check on that first.

generally speaking, headers will make your car pretty freakin loud including rasp.

I have Stillen headers, Berk HFC attached to a Bassani exhaust set up. I just installed the HFC's, this really increased to sound level to the point where it's almost to loud. Now I get noticed by everyone when I come down the street.
With the OEM cats, Stillen header and exhaust the sound was perfect. Not raspy, not DD offensive but loud enough when the cams came on. (Sorry, I don't have a sound clip)
I did have trouble with the steering rack hitting the header, so I had the header adjusted to not to hit the steering rack and that worked. No trouble since then. Z-Car does all the installs and maintenance on my G35. You should be okay with your set up.
Go for it.

Well, I don't know if they are "Adjustable" in the true sense of the word. How Z-Car did the adjustment I'm not quite sure. Then again, the binding problem may not happen to you.
What it will feel like, is that your steering wheel will start shake and it will seem that you can't continue to turn your wheel. You'll know it if it happens.
Just make sure you do the best job that you can do.
It probably will not happen. Z-Car said that my problem was kind of a rare bird for them. This is their standard FI configuration, Stillen headers, Berk HFC and Bassani exhaust that they know it works.
So you should be okay.
Good luck.

Ok that's good to know. Yeah I wish you had a sound clip with header and exhaust. I won't be getting HFC, so it should be fine. I may just purchase exhaust for now and hold off on the headers.

Does anyone know of any other headers available for 08 g35x? I read a while back that FI was developing one, any updates on that?

I am now leaning towards FI for the exhaust, since I have heard so much rave about it on these forums. Such a hard decision though.

No other headers from what i know other than IMPUL and Stillen, impul are super expensive and i heard there are some fitment issues with those as well, i saw a thread long time back where there were pics of stock and stillen headers, and surprisingly the OEM headers are well made for performance.
