FI HFC with stock exhaust

Does anyone here have a video or sound clip with only HFC (preferably FI)? I want to get the FI exhaust (Im limited to it because of AWD) and HFC but Im a bit short on cash rite now and want a mean sound. So any one with the stock exhaust and HFC please show me what you got!

If youre lookin for a little better sound, you could just swap the stock mufflers out.

well with HFC not only will I get a deeper sound I will free up some power. Plus if I plan to go with the full exhaust in the future, no point in getting different mufflers now.

I would suggest Test pipes or Resonated Test pipes. I had the Berk HFC on my stock exhaust and it change the exhaust tone slightly, not quite as loud as a stock G35 coupe/FX35.

Hmmm...that actually sounds pretty good! Didn't really notice any raspiness?

I was considering an FI exhaust, but I'm not a big fan of how aftermarket exhausts look compared to stock...so maybe this is an option.

I think it sounds pretty good as well, I did not catch any rasp either.

I say go for it, I mean if you don't like the look of A/M exhausts but you want a little more power and sound it is a no brainer to me. The question for you at this point is do you want to go FI, Berk and even Invidia has an HFC now.

it makes the stock y-pipe buzz like crazy on decel from what i have heard. Invidia makes a pretty affordable system for the X i believe. putting HFC on a stock exhaust is like opening it up and then just choking it down again. you will be much happier with an aftermarket exhaust.

Also it may be case by case but i would try to find a vid under load that just insnt reving. makes a big difference.

I think the rasp people are talking about is what Austin713 said. Its the buzzing sound which u can hear slighty in that vid. Listen to when he lets off, there is a slight buzz. When I just had my Berk HFCs it did buzz while revving it at a stop but it did not buzz/rasp on acceleration or under any load.

Personally I didn't feel much of a difference until I changed the stock Y pipe. The stock Y pipe is extremely restrictive and even though I was still running the stock rear section, the throttle response was alot better.

You need to get rid of the oem y-pipe and resonators.
Best combo is custom y-pipe (2.25 in) into a magnaflow 11385.
After the magnaflow you can expand 2.25 tubing into stock exhaust.

I have been trying to figure that our myself for like a year now! It seems like you really can't go wrong with either one. They are both said to be of very good quality.

Personally, I have been working on other mods while I figure out which exhaust to get.
