Had my tranny flushed at the dealer. I asked the mechanic what they use for the atf, and he told me that they use valvoline to flush out the old fluid (because it has detergent properties) and then they fill it up with matic s. Does any of this sound legit?
never heard of that for any car, sounds like a way to save a bit of money by using non-nissan atf to flush, but it could be true considering almost all the AM fluids tend to have some sort of detergents
^ It's certainly a possibility. When the G was still under warranty, the dealership performed a flush using B&G equipment/fluid, then filled it back up with Matic.
