Recently i received this package:


went to the dealer and installed it:


the problem is that mechanic who did this job had broken the connection with the oil heating section in the main engine radiator! and he had to route the oil line from the tranny directly to the Stillen radiator.

is it safe to drive at summer without this heating section? I suppose the car needs it only when it's cold to warm up the tranny faster, doesn't it?

I just don't have time to fix it now (up to 3-4 days: need to remove the radiator, take it to another service, etc...), so I'm considering to do this at October, when it starts to be cold here!

Any ideas?

I've had the same unit sitting around for ~3 months now and I still haven't moved my **** to install it.

 

If you are saying that the mechanic damaged your car and didn't install the unit properly, then I would say that you should insist that he fixes it immediately or pays for someone else who can. Needing 3-4 days to repair is ridiculous and sounds like he's just trying to "comfortably" fit it into his schedule. I highly doubt a dealership would require 4 days to fix it. If he has truly screwed up, it should be a #1 priority and should bump his other work. If he cannot accommodate you immediately, then he should either pay for someone who can, or provide you a loaner car in the meantime. If it were me, I wouldn't wait to have it repaired. Situations like this have a way of souring over time; best to deal with it while it's still fresh and clear.

you have a transmission temp gauge? curious to see how big of a difference this actually makes on the tranny.
