Exhaust install

I am going to order the ark grip exhaust soon and I really don't want to pay a shop to install it, so I'm trying to find out how hard it is to do myself? Like what type of tools I would need, etc.? Thanks

I did mine in about two hours man. The hardest part is taking off your stock exhaust. Chances are your bolts are rusted as ***** so get some pb blaster and some wrenches or socket wrenches. I forgot the sizes but they maybe 14mm, 16mm, 17mm. It helps to have a friend lend some extra hands

Ok as long as there's nothing welded on? How did you lift your car up to get under it?

I just jacked up the rear onto jack stands and squeezed under there. You can have the car on four jack stands as well, just be careful and make sure the ground is level when you're jacking the vehicle up.

Nothing should be welded on but the rust will make it feel as if the bolts are welded on ha

Do the wheels need to be hanging? Instead of buying jack stands I was just gonna build a ramp for each wheel out of wood lol

Jack stands are very cheap bro. Unless you want to risk the car falling on top of you it will probably cost just as much if not more to make wood ramps. It will be a lot safer on steel ones.

Ok where do you put jack stands, like under the axle or something?

I tried and failed at installing this exhaust last week. As almost3lips says, the hardest part is taking off the stock exhaust cause the bolts are rusted on there. I tried spraying liquid wrench hours before and during the process but neither me or my buddy could get the bolts to budge. Luckily, I found a shop to do the whole install for only $70 so I went that route. Try and spray your bolts the night before to help loosen them up. Also, the bolts were 14mm. GL with the install, the exhaust is awesome.

I live in Garland, work in Arlington. Was hoping maybe there was a club or something for the Gen2 sedans. I' very impressed with this vehicle. It's quite possible the most awesome car I have ever driven. You know of any meets or drives or anything?

Yeah jack up the back, you will see where the stands cradle. Make sure the rear axle is even between the 2 jacks. Also make sure you aren't on an incline and put bricks in the front and back of the front tires.

Fitment is spot on. There is absolutely no drone which is great. The only real complain that I have is that exhaust is very loud from 2-3K RPMs. I would rather have the exhaust really loud from 3K on since that is where our cars become fun.
