Question Poor upshifting in manual mode

I have a 2007 G35 5at w 53k miles. In the manual shift mode, it has started to not upshift when I tap up under acceleration. This goes to the point that I have bounced off the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd,as I will often hold the gear until quite high. It works fine full automatic mode and the DS modes, and has never not downshifted in the manual mode. It seems to affect all gears but is erratic, not easily reproducible. For example, I drove to work today about 45 mi, and it happened 3 separate time, but driving home tonight, not one incident. It happens with no pattern related vehicle operating time, atmospheric conditions or other variables I can think of. Any clues?

Thanks

Is the problem with the paddles or the shifter itself?

No paddles

The erratic nature has me thinking it is a loose connection/failing switch in the shifter. Especially when I consider that the transmission works in every other mode just fine.

Probably the same problem I experienced. It's covered if you're still under warranty.

Mine does it too. What was the diagnosis on the cause of the problem?

I hope I am still under warranty

I got the car second hand, so I don't know the warranty details. I've heard 4yr/50k mi and 7yr/70k mi. I hope the latter. Either way looks like I'll be taking it in to Beshoff here in SJ next week. I just hope it crops up when they drive it.
