My first G35! Now.... Questions..... (anyone run 1/4 mile here)
Hey, first I want to say hi. I just purchased a 2007 G35 Sedan a couple of months ago and am IN LOVE with this car! Its beautiful, fast, and incredibly sexy. I always like the G35's, just never thought I could afford one. I've always been a gearhead and with this car, no exception. I was amazed at the acceleration of this car and its handling from the first test-drive at the dealer. So, I took it to my local 1/4 mile track and well, much different than my old 98 Accord coupe
first runs were 14.2 - 14.1... Very respectable for a V6 sedan. I have since then purchased two K&N drop ins and a bullydog tuner. My fastest time is 13.5 at 102 MPH and is listed on Dragtimes for the ones who don't believe my G can whoop their POS V8 Mustangs. My question is can I disable the 0-Throttle (throttle cuts off while braking) feature when I'm trying to do a standstill burnout at the track? The VDC off wont let a burnout happen unless I'm rolling, which looks pretty boring since I have to do about 4 forwards and reverses while I'm lining up at the trees, lol. I read about the G-sensor in the center console but don't want to rip apart my interior unless I'm sure its possible. The local G's and Z's are in the mid 14's and I have no comp except for the M6 that clearly killed me last weekend with a low 12 second run. wow. I would be happy just taking out LS1's for now
I would love to get a better launch if I could just warm up these tires a bit better at the box. Any tips other than stop racing my car?

Yes it's auto. And That's a good idea, I'm gonna try it, but I'm afraid that it will interfere with other functions like abs and starting the car too. I don't wanna go 100 mph and find that the car goes into a slide at the end of the track. Yes, I can install an inline switch, but don't wanna cut wires and have my warranty voided, ya know?
just wanted to chime in. if you haven't already done so, be sure to take a look at the local forum. welcome

Oh yeah, I sure do, but only on the track
UPDATE- I went to the track tonight and disconnected the sensor in the center console. The slip and VDC lights came on but I was still unable to burnout standing still. The computer just won't let me
I did run a 13.4 at 104.9 MPH, which makes me the fastest N/A G35 on the dragtimes.com website. I'm pretty happy with that. When my warranty is up I will install test pipes or HFC's and a full tune and exhaust and hopefully get 300 up to the wheels. I gotta show that IS-F who's boss, LOL. Thanks for the input and warm welcome guys.

That's pretty impressive. What tires were you running and what was your 60' ?
From someone on myg37
I learned when you disconnect the brake light switch, the car can now hold the brake and rev up to spin the tires. (With the brake light on, the engine will not allow this for more than two seconds.) I spliced into one of the two leads into the switch and ran it to a toggle under the dash. Click/OFF = burnout and brake boost, Click/ON = normal operation.
Sorry, for the tires I meant more whether they were drag slicks or something similar, or just regular street tires.
YES, this is exactly what I expected.

Vq- They are regular street tires.
Surf- Thanks, I think I can splice into that circuit as long as I make a piggyback connector with blade terminals and some wire so I can revert it to stock when I go to the dealer for maintence. Thanks!
