6mt oil change..replace washer?
Who here has done this, the FSM says to replace the washer for fill and drain plugs each time, but I got one from the nissan dealer, it's metal and not crush type like the regular oil one, plus they only had 1. They said they never replace it when they do it so they didn't sell many. Any have some insight? I just dont want to get started and realize I have the wrong part if the closest nissan dealer is closed.

When they are new, they are very slightly compressible. But, after they have been used once, not so much. This is why most people think they aren't a crush washer. I think they are mainly intended more as a sacrificial cushion in case of over-tightening, and not so much as a seal per se. For that reason, they are usually fine to re-use, just be extra careful not to over-tighten them. I was able to pick them up for cheap from an online Nissan dealer was I was getting some other stuff. If you bought just those alone, the shipping would outweigh any potential savings.
btw, I just looked up my old receipt and I show a Nissan part# 11026-4N200. Looks like the tranny and diff took the same one. They were $1.95 ea.(2.60 list) online.
here's a random DIY thread showing them:

^ dang! do u have all my post bookmarked?? lol
but yeah i do remember that and like i said there, it doesnt hurt to change em if you can get them at the same time since its only $2 but my point was that the dealerships dont change these as well and is not required but recommended imo, iv had no issues neither on my FX,G or my friends G that i help with all the DIY with over 120k now but like you said dont over tighten them, i always take an extra few seconds to torque them and have had now issues
Cause when i went to get the mtf last time they didnt have any in stock and said they dont carry them cause they dont change em, anyways this is a viscous circle, bottom line if you can get them then simply replace it else its ok.
