Checklist for 07 G35x hesitation at low RPM

Hey all,

I have a 2007 G35x sedan (5AT) with 65k. I have an intermittent issue when I try to accelerate gently from a full stop. A few times a week, the car seems to hesitate for a moment around 1100 RPM. It is more noticeable when the engine is "colder" (although I always allow it to warm up a bit before going anywhere). I do a lot of city driving. I bought the car @ 44k, and I have noticed it intermittently in the past as well...pre-tranny fluid change...and no other gear shifting issues are apparent). It seems like less of a gear issue and more of a throttle lag.

I've scoured these forums and seen a number of possible causes for this issue (ECU update, MAF sensor, throttle bodies, etc.). Here's the thing: although I'm covered by the Elite warranty, my nearest Infiniti dealer is 90 minutes away. In other words, when I head to them, I want a checklist of every thing that could be checked in one sitting. I'm willing to pay out-of-pocket / more than necessary to avoid the hassle of playing tag back and forth driving to the dealer (and some of this will need to be done eventually, anyway). So here's what I think:

(1) ECU update;
(2) Throttle body cleaning;
(3) Fuel Injector cleaning;
(4) MAF Sensor cleaning;
(5) replace spark plugs.

Are there other avenues I should be aware of / other things I should have them take care of while they're in there?I have already recently done most of a 60k service (at 61k):

(1) Air filters;
(2) Cabin filter;
(3) tranny fluid;
(4) oil change; and
(5) serpentine belt.

I also changed the battery. Is there anything else (outside of a coolant flush) that needs to be done?

Thanks for your help.

-Reg

You seem to have covered all of the common bases, unless another poster has more suggestions. If what you're talking about is the throttle 'tip-in' or engagement point, then that is almost definitely taken care of by the ECU update. Wouldn't hurt to do the other cleaning jobs as well though.

Thanks for the info! Based on my reading of the threads on here and elsewhere, it does seem to just be the engagement point of the throttle, so I'll press for the ECU update.

Yep. I gotta get mine done as well but many posters have had very positive results with their 07's.
