Oil cooler

How many of you have deleted the factory oil cooler and added an external one? How exactly did you do it? Did you use one of the adapters that gets sandwiched between the filter and block which provides 2 hose connections?

You mention deleting the factory oil cooler but then mention adding this one. The sandwiched one is the stock design on these models.

The sandwich on mine IS the cooler, and uses coolant as the cooling medium. I'm looking to see if anybody has used a sandwich plate that allows the connection of flex hoses to use an external cooler that uses air as the cooling medium.

Are you sure it's an oil to water heat exchanger? I always assumed the lines went up to the radiator and there was a circuit through the radiator for the oil to cool as an oil to air exchange?

Yep, traced it out, the 2 lines to/from it are definitely coolant. ConceptZ and Z1 have replacement hoses for it that are all labeled as water hoses too.
