How to remove 6MT shift ****?

Could someone please tell me how to remove a 6MT shift ****? I have the most of the service manual, but it refers me to a section that I don't have (TM-18). Is the **** same as previous where it just screws off?

If it's the same as the auto you pull the boot down and remove a clip. Then it just pulls off. I'm guessing that if it won't unscrew with regular pressure you're either a wuss or it comes off some other way. Try pulling the boot down and see if that helps.
EDIT I just checked the service manual. It says to pull up the console finisher (the boot is attached to it) and grab the shaft with a wrench and unscrew the **** as the last poster suggested.
