Most of the time. I enjoy the more aggressive shift points.

It's awesome, but when slowing down, it holds gears too long I think and jerks all the way down to 1st gear.

Yep, most of the time. Certainly on city streets and in traffic on the hiway. I love it. One of my favorite things about the G.

It's become habit shifting into DS to pass trucks etc. It's also very very fun on banking curves on the freeway

I use it in windy back roads where traffic is light, and I can drive in the pace I choose, accelerating & decelerating as I please without other cars dictating the pace that I drive. It's especially fun in two lane roads when I need to pass someone. I suppose I can use DS mode in more driving scenarios, but not driving it in DS mode all the time makes me enjoy DS mode even more when I do use it. I haven't actually calculated it myself, but some folks have reported that they get less gas mileage when using it.

Yeah my pops had a loaner for a while, and I would take it out every now and then. In DS mode, it most certainly burns alot more gas, because of how the transmission aggressively shifts and holds the gear at higher rpm's for a longer time. Higher RPMs = More engine work. More engine work = More gas.

Slip lockup does not occur in DS mode.
If I'm reading correctly, the link only compares M and D mode. I would think the difference between D and DS is the tranny logic, and that the effects on the torque converter are the same?

So there are D, DS and M modes overall right?

I usually only use D or M.

so who shifts while driving (between D, M and DS) or do you come to a complete stop first before shifting?

I shift when I'm moving.

I wouldn't want to stop in the middle of the freeway just to move the shifter left.

I'm sure you can move the shifter anytime...

I shift back and forth between D, DS, and M like 1000s of times every time I drive pretty much
