Speedometer wrong reading
Speedometer wrong reading
I have noticed that my speedometer indicates a speed of 132Km/h (79mph)when actual speed is 120Km/h (72mph). I know that other users noticed the same problem. Is there a solution to this problem yet? As Infiniti recognized the problem?

I've been asking Infiniti shop since July. They are aware of the problem but do not have a cure yet, they are apparently working on it. My car was in the shop last Thursday and they didn't even tryed to fix the problem.
Are you sure it's not reading correctly? 132 vs 120 would also mean that your odometer reading is 10% over and your gas mileage is 10% worse than you think. How did you test the reading?

According to Infiniti shop, odometer and speedometer have separate readings???
Like I said, Infiniti has acknowledged the problem but seem to be reluctant to publish it yet.

Yeah mine is off to. my gps gives 140 km/h but the speedo will be at 152 km/h (12 km/h differece)
If think this was done on purpose to be honest, bmw used to do it all the time. By making the speedo ~10km/h or 6mph opptimistic it tends to keep drivers of sporty cars out of trouble with radar traps (as those are the incriments by which penalties jump) ie in canada in a 100 zone, 120 = $135, 130 = ~$250, 140 = ~$500
Less tickets = happier drivers = more likely to come back since the car didn't make them loose their license or blow their insurance.
Your speedo and gas are not affected as the only difference here is how the servo on the speedo responds to the input from the driveline. The computer interprets the signal on its own basis.
Proof - go highway speeds - go to the cars dash computer --> avg speed mode, set the cruise at the highway speed and reset the computer. Every time the speed will be exact almost with the real one (gps comparison) hence your economy and odo readings are bang on.

but be careful, these differences may not always be linear, i.e at lower speeds it may only be off by a few points, and that gap often widens at higher speeds which is where on gets into trouble

Your speed calibration may be set wrong, put the car in diagnostic mode and check it.
Below is a thread on how to get it into the diagnostic mode.

If you change it, just be sure and double check your speed with a GPS.
Hope this helps.
