Passenger Airbag Light always on

Hey all,
I just bought a G35 sedan 07 a couple of months ago. Now whenever my wife is with me in the car the passenger airbag light keeps coming on and off every once in a while. Is there like a weight sensor or something thats going hay wire? btw she's around 55kg.
thanks.

There are several threads on this - known issue, if you have a relatively light passenger, if they shift position they can actually unload the sensor enough so that the G thinks it should switch off or move to low-power airbag.

Actually, my '07 G35X exhibited the same behavior even with myself (180lbs) in the passenger seat.
Brought it to the dealer for this and they claimed they "could not replicate" on the work order form. But since driving off it hasn't happened again...
Now being a cynical type of guy I wondered if Infiniti is secretly fixing this so that they dont have to admit that this is a real problem; that way if a child or adult is ever injured because of a sensor failure Infiniti won't have to admit fault by default...

I did report it on my last service and they said it may be a software issue that they need to reset. Unfortunately, after i got if back from the dealer the same problem persists.

The real question is... Do you really want the airbag to go off?

This is required to replace the passenger airbag... snif...

Mine is doing the same thing, when my friends sit in the passenger seat (girls, most 5'-5'3 100lbs and under) the airbag light turns on. I took it in for service and they said they would have to replace the seat bottom. I'm dropping it off next friday to have done, I'll post if it fixes it.
