I never use the voice commands, I have a tech package, But everytime I press the voice button nothing happens, I say commands nothing works. I saw on the dvd that when you press the button you get the girls voice that does the navigation. I don't get a prompt like that. Does the Voice recognition have to be turned on on some setting, or do I need the dealer to sort this out.

 

Have you turned off the voice either by hitting the voice button or within the SETTINGS?

 

I haven't done anything, just the way I got it from the dealership. How do you turn it on if it is off.

 

look under the settings on your nav. Theres an option in there.

 

Or... just turn up the volume after you hit the voice command button where all the menu comes up. If you have the volume turned down, you should be able hear that voice.

I have the voice turned off(drives me nuts...this way it just beeps when its ready for me to talk instead of her telling me) and my voice recog still works fine. So just because the voice isn't there doesn't meant its off. Your dealer should have walked you through at least a little bit of this, if anything just to confirm that it works? If you aren't getting any success from the manual I would bring it back in.

 

I wonder if this dude even has nav, or if he just has bluetooth from the premium package and thinks he has voice rec.

 

I have nav, I don't know how it works in the states, but I know in Canada we don't have what you call "Journey" It starts as the real base G, whith about 0 percent have, then we have the preium pack, which is every base car, but add 4000$ to the base price. THe prium pack comes with the top stereo but no nav or tech, then you can have the nav option, and after the nav option you have have the tech package option. In Canada, you can't have the tech package without have every other package first including Nav.
