Will this work?

First, I would like to say I do know how to use the search function (and I did find the chart with the different offsets and wheel sizes everyone is running however, my computer wont download it for some reason). I am sick of my stock wheels for my 08 Journey (garnet ember) and i need new wheels. Anyways, i found some wheels that i want however im not sure if they will fit. I understand camber has alot to do with whether or not the wheels will fit, and while i know what camber is all of the numbers about camber i have no idea. What i am planning on doing is buying / installing the wheels and about two weeks later dropping my car (eibachs possibly). Will these offsets work without rubbing? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

20x8.5, Bolt Pattern (PCD) 5x114.3 (5x4.5), Offset (ET) 40mm
lip size 1 1/2"

the rears would probably fit, if you lower it, and camber probably around -1 to -1.5 or so and running 255 tires...

the fronts are no problem

+1 on the 255 tires for the rear, but yur gonna have to run atleast -1.5 camber.

yep, in my opinion, with the rear offsets, you gotta run spacers up front to have a more 'flush' look, to look similar to the rears

+1 on that too my friend. Atleast a 10mm spacer with a 225/35 or 235/35 tire would look good.

I would switch the offset between front and rear and run 275 tires in the back and 245 up front. Pros: no need to run excessive camber and deal with tire wear issues and you can run wider tires. Cons: Less wheel lip and can't take a turn as fast as a car with more positive camber. Wider tires also cost a little bit more.

Think about the kinda look you are going after and weigh the pros and cons for yourself.

Would a 20mm offset work better up front? I just saw they come available in this offset.

it's probably better for you to look at the picture thread all the way thru...

if you get the 20mm up front and you don't lower the ride, it's going to stick waaay out, and you probably need to stretch the tires too

there's a picture towards the last few pages for 20X9 +25mm up front, it looks good with his lowered ride, he doesn't have a straight/flush picture of the fitment, but i 'think' +20mm would work...
