Will this work part two...

Thought I would follow Oceanside350z with my own will this work question.

I have a 2007 Journey Sedan and will be lowering with Eibach. I'm a newb when it comes to this stuff so I'm a bit hesitant. But after looking at terrys spreadsheet and searching I'm considering the following...

Work Varianza T1S Machine Silver Polish

Front - 20x9 +40
Bridgestone Potenzas RE960AS Pole Position 245/35/20

Rear - 20x10 +48
Bridgestone Potenzas RE960AS Pole Position 285/30/20

Opinions? Any adjustments you would make to this setup? Does anyone know if the T1S supports our tire pressure monitor? Thanks for the help everyone.

Nice choices ... maybe 255 in front?

Not trying to steal your thread although would this setup fit

F-20x9 +38 245/35
R-20X10 +43 275/30

All input is welcome.
Thanks!

All good. I was advised by Work not to go to 9" on the front. So I think I'm going down to 8.5" fr and 9.5" rear. Not sure how reliable this site is but seems to give good info on sizing....

yeah, i think it'll fit too

do it, (so we'll know), lol

i wonder why work says not to have 9" up front, i mean, do they know what color i like too? because i don't think there's a one size fits all type of answer, it's pretty subjective... we have a picture on the picture thread that shows 20X9 fitting just fine...

I was told that it would negatively effect the turning radius and put undue stress on other parts of the vehicle. No idea what that means. I think they will fit but you can put the same tire (245/35/20) on the 8.5 as you do the 9 so no real gain in rubber on the road right?

hmm, i don't think i really buy their reason.. but to each his own...

undue stress:
the way i see it, 245 is 245, the undue stress would mostly be on the weight of wheel which depends on the wheel itself...

245's on 8.5 or 9:
true, it's 245's either ways, but putting it on a wider rim = less sidewall flex on the tire, this probably makes more sense to someone going ***** out on a track/twisties but not to most of us.. and to some of us, it gives a different 'look' to how the tires fit on the rim (and some of us want to maximize 'flushness' on offsets, so fitting certain tires on wide rims is a good exercise on very precise calculations...)

Good points. Thanks for the input. I take it that is why those running 9.5" in the rear go for 275 width tire vs 285?

Can someone confirm if there's any negative impact to the vehicle by running 20X9 wheels up front?

or 255's on 10 wide, haha

it could also mean what specific brand of tires they buy, and/or availability of sizes for the rims...

(for example, i was looking at falkens f452 on citytireonline, the price of 245/35/20 or 255/35/20 is as cheap or cheaper than 17" tires...)

Never heard of such a thing. People have been increasing the width of wheels over stock as far as I can remember. If anything, manufacturers do not want to deal with issues due to bad fit, so they are more conservative in recommending widths and offsets.

yeah, for example, my old car had 6.5" width in the front, and i went to 9"...

for the most part, i wouldn't worry about the undue stress, it's not like you're pushing your car to the limit, going full lock to full lock
