It sure does.

From the manual (Page 2-24):

8. Intelligent Key battery discharge indicator

This indicator appears when the Intelligent Key battery is running out of power. If this indicator appears, replace the battery with a new one. See ªIntelligent Key battery replacementº in the ª8. Maintenance and do-it-yourselfº section

Definitely not normal for 6 months, I would see your dealer if they are close by.

It is a battery device and if someone or something was causing the one of buttons to be pressed, say all night, over night, it could cause the battery to run down earlier.

I wouldn't waste your time, go to radioshack and by a CR2032 battery and replace it.

  • The Intelligent Key continually consumes battery power as the key receives a signal to communicate with the vehicle. Battery life is about 2 years, although it varies depending on the operating conditions.
  • If the Intelligent Key receives strong signal over an extended period of time, the battery could quickly run down. Do not place the Intelligent Key near an electric appliance such as a television set or personal computer.

I had that light on a few days ago and just ignored it and it went away. I never knew it meant the key fob was running out of battery. My keys still work and that light never came on again. Dont you charge the battery when you put the key in the key Fob slot in the car?

Guys, read this thread.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192062

THE WATCH BATTERIES IN OUR KEY FOBS ARE NOT RECHARGEABLE.

So be careful, i assume you can still unlock the door with the physical key and start the car by inserting your keyfob into the dash, but I personally woudn't rely upon this.

They really should have made the batteries rechargeable.
