i get about 22-23ish mpg

in the city im at 20-21 ish depending on the pace
on the highway about 25 ish

granted i drive conservativelt, and shift ~2000-2500 rpm

i've gotten it to do 28mpg but that was at the speed limit on the highway in 6th

11,000 miles on mine. I punch it one in awhile but generally drive moderately. I've not driven one highway mile in the past 3 fill ups and I've gotten 16.4 MPG, up to about 16.8 tops in the past. Highway trips just cruising I can get about 25. With a 50/50 mix you should get about 19 or 20 as long as your highway driving is not bumper to bumper.

This car has a lot of horsepower for a sedan, you can't really expect great mileage. If you want good mileage the key is to spend your money on a "stop global warming" bumper sticker (or three) and a Prius. What is with Prius' and bumper sticker? I guess those college girls and liberal men like to make a statements.

Driving from Atlanta to Louisville my last trip I got 22-23 mpg driving up and about 20-21 driving back. In town driving rush hour and errands (no freeway) I average just around 15-16 best! I love the performance, but sure wish I could get better MPG, but heck thats the cost for the performance I wanted. : )

I just got ITB07-045 ECU reflash done last week. It'll be interesting to see when I fill up on Monday what my mileage will look like.

I range between 15.3-16.9 on the onboard computer every fill up with all city driving with an average MPH around 25-30. If I'm closer to 30, it's generally in the high 16s if I'm closer to 25 it's in the low-mid 15s.

Be really interesting to see if the reflash changes anything.

I am hpoing to be able to AVERAGE about 19 or 20 ( combo city and hwy) and I'd be happy
Sounds like that might be realistic?
I work at home so not a daily commuter so its not such a big issue for me but I was a bit surprised my friend with the Beamer was averaging 22
My G35 has averaged just over 21 mpg over the last 4 years 46K miles. mileage wise more highway than city (a 3000 mile road trip can skew the numbers).

Just to give you a quick answer, NO. There is no way you'll get 20 on city driving. Most you'll get is probably around 17. For example, the highest I've gone was 23, and that was on the FWY the WHOLE TIME. I was going from Orange County, CA to Phoenix, AZ which covered about 420 miles (to Scottsdale). Now, for everyday driving, I cover about 20% FWY and 80% city, and I avg about 15.... sometimes even lower at 13. My last tank of gas last about 240~250 miles.

Just do a search, you'll find a lot of answers from there. If you're really that concerned about MPG, then maybe the G isn't a car for you.
An update...

I just finished my last tank with about 18.5MPG!! And that is with about 80hwy/20city. It last about.. 325miles. Not too bad for one of my better tank of gas. LOL

dopey: What promped you to get the ECU upgrade?? I'm wrestling with doing it myself. I have a 2007 G35X 5spd Auto with 7800 miles, "touchy throttle' but not the major cruise control issue expressed by others. How did you arrange to get the Dealer to the Reflash??

This is pretty normal for me. I've got 1,200 miles and I'm on my fourth fill up.

Hmmm... My driving is something like 15 hwy / 85 city and through 2100 miles on my 08 I've averaged 20.5 mpg. Best stint was a 26.2 mpg, 90hwy/10city road trip - which helped the overall average for that tank. Current tank is getting ~21.1 mpg and about 2400 miles overall. All-in-all better than I'd expected.

if you want mileage, 2.5 is your option....
you want perfomance, right this way to the 3.5....

I get 19 at an even 50/50 mix of hwy and city. same 50/50 mix of spirited and easy driving. thats 20's, auto, and intakes.....

evans....are you estimating by the gauge on the car or by the tank mileage and fill up volume division?
yeah and then your car will be the new camry, every signle person will have it..there is a reason high end companies don't offer 4 bangers, so the average joe can't afford it.
