I personally preferred 20% even if it was occasionally slightly more difficult to see out of at night... never had any legal trouble with it, but probably because I was driving a beater and cops never even looked my direction.

50. Just dark enough to where people can't look inside at night, but light enough to see clearly.

appreciate all the posts! I'll show this thread to my dad tonight when he gets home.

Anyone have any links to websites specifically arguing the effects on night time vision and applicable %'s ?

may be overkill but if anyone has anything like that I'd appreciate it and thanks again!

30 to 35% is fine. The rear windshield you can do 20% max. I will not do more than that.

I think you can't go wrong with 35%. ANY tint will make it harder to see at night, hence it being TINT and having a light throughput %. I've has just about all tint, and 50% was way to light, my friends didn't even know my car was tinted. 20% looked the best to me, but i had trouble backing out my car at night (no street lights where i live). 35% was the best of both worlds to me, dark enough to look good, but light enough that i can drive at night.

mine is 35% and i can still see at night. during the day it still looks good and you still get some privacy. any lighter than that then there's no point in tinting your windows. darker looks good, but harder to see at night.

I have 2% on my current car. Way to dark. Ive had cars come down side streets without lights on and i could not see them at allll. I have to lean forward to look out the windsheild when going around turns because the windows are useless haha. I'll be going with 20% on the G.

i have 35, kinda wish i did 28. there are no problems with 35 at night.

go to a tint shop and have him look at a car that was done with 35. have him sit in it, that might help

also i am jealous that ur dad bought u a 35k car. im dropping $700 a month on payments for my G. my first car was a $2k Honda civic. your lucky, so don't take it for granted.

^+1 to who ever said go to a place that does computer cuts. much better edge job.
