Sport model owners please chime in...
Howdy, sport model owners. I have a question for ya.
I believe we all understand that our Sport model has pretty beefy sway bars under our cars. Now my quesiton is, has anyone upgrade their sways to something even beefier??? I am pretty sure Stillen is the only company out there that makes the sway bars at the moment, but I just wanted see if there are any members who installed something other than Stillen and wasn't very active here on the Driver to share with us.
Some of you may know that I just got the BBK, and some also may know that I wanted to go with Twin Turbo setup, but I have come to a conclusion of modding my suspension setup first then any more power mods. Thus, I am currently looking for sway bars, strut bars, and coilovers.
Anyone suggest anything other than Stealen? oops, I meant Stillen? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I havnt gotten my car on the lift yet to check out the suspension so i cant say how beefy it is. However, from my experience, upgrading the rear is not really needed in RWD cars.
A beefier sway bar in the rear would be good for drifting. If you autocross or circuit track the car, then the larger sway bar would give you more outside wheel lift. A thinner or running no sway bar in the rear at all usually gives a car more cornering grip.
The front would probably be a good upgrade, if it is even sold seperately.

Hmm. I have just changed out my Sways for the Stillen Sways. And from looking at them both before Installing them. The Stiilen and the Stock front Sway seems to be the same Size. But the New Rear Stillen Bar, is actually a little Smaller than the Stock rear bar. Not a whole lot, But just a little. And the Stillen bars are more Solid. Since the Factory Bars are Hollow! Very Light. But the Car feels a wee bit Stiffer. and feel's alot more "Planted" than with the Stock bars. and they definately make a diffrence in the corners. So Just my 2cents. on the New Bars compared to stock ones. And I don't think if you go Bigger, will be better for new Bars. Otherwise it might be way too Stiff. And should replace bars as a "Package" Not Buy Just the Front, and leave the Rear stock. I think it would make the car ill Handling if you do that. Suspension pieces need to work in harmony together, Not Picemill. Know what I mean.? Good Luck Bro!
I assume the Stillen's are adjustable? Is that were the gains in handling are?

Hey Terry, Yea just the Rear bar is Adjustable. Has 2 holes. One for the Stcok setting, and the other hole is to add like 70% more Stiffness or More Chassis Control over stock. I have mine on the Stiffest Setting. And It feels good! I like it. It's not harsh or Super Stiff. Just the right kind of feel. That me though. Everyone is diffrent.

size equal, solid bars tend to offer more stiffness than hollow. the 32mm front bar i ran on my sti was hollow, and was equiv. to ~29.xx mm solid.
there are other factors at play here, but that's the very basic version.

Can anyone confirm that the Sport bars are in fact different (read: beefier) than the non-Sport bars (perhaps someone w/access to the Nissan parts database)? If so, then these aftermarket bars would definitely be a big upgrade for my Journey.
