Pilot Bearing?

I told the dealer about the issue I was having with a clutch.. When the clutch is pushed in it in gear (going to shift or sitting at a light) or when I sometimes have it in no gear it would do the same thing (VERY rarely though) it makes some noise like some metal is hitting and spinning.

I was told it was the pilot bearing and that this is normal and has been doing since 2003 models..

Is this true? Sounds a bit weird.

Yes sir, it is true. and i also suffered with these symptoms for about 6 months until i got my clutch recall done, through which they also gave me a free Clutch Kit new master cylinder, slave cylinder and an ecu update, since then i have had no issue with the clucth or the tranny.

I actully love driving it and the sounds are ALMOST nonexistant, i can only hear them when i really try to otherwise no more chattering as before, so look into the slave cylinder recall.

No it sounds more like metal hitting metal and you can feel it in the clutch pedal. Sometimes you can actually hear it too.

What I feel when I depress the clutch half way down and to the firewall is like the clutch is tight and makes a metal on metal rubbing sound that sounds like it needs to be lubed, not loud or anything but it is noticeable. Is this normal? (sorry to hijack your thread)

Approximately home many miles were on your car once you began to experience this problem?

intermittant rotational rubbing noise

has anyone ever figured out what caused this noise? I just had my clutch replaced with an aftermarket flywheel, and my car started making this noise 2 days later. I brought it back and the shop replaced all of the clutch and bearing parts - and the noise again returned after about 2 days. Any insight would be great.
