Tuning differences and ECU question

Really interested in getting some tuning done. Talked to Technosquare today and the guy I need to talk will be in on Monday, so I have to call back. But, I was wondering how similar or how different the tuning was between the G35 and the 350z, as there are a couple shops I know of that do some UTEC work on 350zs. Isn't anyone doing a UTEC deal on these cars yet?

I'm wondering how reliable the Technosquare tuning will be when done by mail. I'd have to send my ECU, which I could do while I went on vacation in a few weeks.

How hard is it to get to the ECU in this car, to pull it out and put it back in?

Utec's are quite simple and in my experience the software layout is the same. I had a Utec in my STI and tuned my buddie's evo with his Utec and the layout is the same. Granted the tune was completely different between the engines but I'd guess a VQ35 is a VQ35....probably some minor differences between the DE and HR but none that would hinder someone familiar with 350's from doing our cars.

On a personal note. I'm a BIG fan of Utecs for their simplicity. I had no trouble at all picking up tuning on it.

Also, Do they even have utecs for the G35?

I dunno. I was fairly sure they had them for the 06-under sedans/coupes... but not sure about the 07s and up. I may call the place in Houston Monday to talk to them about it. They do a lot of 350z tuning.

Uprev is in Austin, about 4 hours away. I should go down there and see if they can get set up with an 07+ G35. They do work with the older G35s and 350Zs... Maybe I'll give them a call on Monday.
