Synthetic fluids(other)

Well, i tried to follow the thread about someone wanting to replace to synthetic fluid in the rear differential but nothing came of it.

I will be getting my buddy to drain and refill my engine/tranny/differential out of current fluids. Then switch them to synthetic fluids. i would do it myself, but its a new performance shop that he opened, and i want to support him some.

the motor has had sythetic since the 2nd oil change(at oil change #8 now). I ran with royal purple for 2 changes and mobil1 for 5 changes. So its up between mobil one synthetics or royal purple synthetics. I am a believer in royal purple, but just went back to mobil1 for price.

i will update when finished, i will include fluid brand, weights, capacity, and price.

(side question-anyone know the cheapest place to get ichiba 10mm wheels spacers w/studs )

I voted stock.
Why go against what they recommend and give them any reason(s) to deny a claim for warranty repairs if something should ever go seriously wrong?

I run royal purple in my truck, my race quads and I'll be running it in the car very soon.

Thumbs up

lol, good call, but i have been through that and know how the game works. there are ways around it.

for the average guy, stock fluids other than motor oil are recommended tho, even by me. I put that option there for those that might run across the thread and want to keep the warranty 110% intact.

I would imagine with the life of these motors and how they're 99% are driven, synthetic is unnecessary and overkill, but we do it for bragging rights I guess... I buy so much for my big truck and quads that it doesn't really cost a whole lot more for me to use it in my other stuff.

sorry to bring back a really old thread but has anyone put vavlvoline synth fluid in their differential? I bought 75-90 (the manual says 80-90) but the guy at the store said it would work fine. I am wondering if this is correct or will I hurt my diff if I use this? I wanted royal purple but they didn't have the right viscosity. Thanks!

I use Amsoil for engine and diff; haven't changed out my 5AT fluids. I have customers using it in the MTs as well.
