even if this software is off by a few HP or miliseconds from a real drag strip/dyno. you still can use it for tracking changes between un-modded and modded runs of ur car.
kinda cool..
only $13..

You can always get this for less than the price of an iPhone. I like mine. Originally Posted by ugaexploder

I thought the new iPhone's were only $199 brand new though and that GTech pro is like $300...Originally Posted by soundmike

correct, but the 199 is for the phone and a 2 year contract. to get the phone with out a contract is in the range of 600 or so

Okay, so got my new iPhone, got the new SW (because let's face it, why wouldn't you?
), and tried it out tonight. Results are mixed:
The SW loads fast, and is pretty user-friendly. You put in the weight of the car (with you in it), expected drivetrain loss, and make/model/year. You also calibrate the accelerometer in the iPhone.
Can't really tell you how accurate it is, because I have nothing to compare it to; seems like it's within 10% or so though. On the last few tests, have no results - once the phone rang which shuts off the SW (doh!), and on the last two the iPhone barfed both times (even after rebooting) and tried to shut down - no reading.
Gave up at that point, but it's a fun toy.
Oh, and the max HP it estimated was 901 - that's good news

How about you and i get together one of these days and see how the app compares to the GTECH, at least it's some sort of comparison.
Btw, which track did you go to when you last took the G?
