245/45/18 or 235/50/18 on all four corners?

would really appreciate your help here gang. i'm at about 22K mi on a '07 g35s with the original sport package oem wheels. it appears they're getting ready to be replaced. been doing lots'o research for staggered tires that fit.
will these work?
225/45/18 & 245/45/18 NANKANG NSII G35 UHP TIRES
I can get these for a nice deal at about $300 TOTAL after cashback on live.com, so a pretty good deal all around. but i've been seeing some talk about it being better/smarter to go with bigger tires up front?
i'm a newbie, so go easy (if you want) and tell me what you'd do? I'll post pics soon.
thanks, the angrybulldog

Again, you're going to have to use a 225/50 with a 245/45 rear due to the overall diameter needs to be pretty close to each other. all you have to do is find the tire, look at the specs and see the diameter... if it's off 3/4", then it's probably too much. I'd much rather put 245s on front and rear rather than go with such a narrow front. handling will be improved.

you have 225/45s or 225/50s? there's a 1" difference there. our stock tires are 225/50 fronts and 245/45 rears...
he was asking about 225/45 fronts which are 26" tall and then the 245/45s on the rears which are about 27" tall.
my point for going with 245s front and rear is the added width of the 245/45 over the 225/50 is going to add more stability and handling, so why not if you have the chance.

Well I just couldn't pass up those BFGs for $77 so I ordered them today (against everyones advice )
I don't get too wild in this car and the tires were well reviewed so I think they'll work out OK. I'm putting another 2k on the Potenzas before I get them installed, but I'll post my opinion on them when they're on. The BFGs seem to be a solid all-season Zrated tire and even though they're 235/50/18s I think the slightly wider front and narrower rear shouldn't be something I can't live with.
I crunched the numbers and compared all the tire sizes available at discounttire.com and only the Goodyear F1s would work as stock. I was a bit more concerned about going 20mm wider on the front than 10mm narrower on the rear so I went ahead and ordered them. If it turns out bad, we;ll it was a $400 lesson learned, but I think the G will still rip just fine
Thanks for your opinions BTW, much apreciated

It'll work fine, as long as the larger bulge up front doesn't bother you. And you may lose a bit of traction in the rear. You shouldn't have a problem spinning those snow tires.
FWIW, even though tires seem expensive (because you pay so much up front), it's actually one of the cheaper parts of car ownership. They cost you about 2.5 cents per mile. Compare that to gas ($4/gallon, city driving) at about 23 cents per mile.

OK, got the new 235/50/18 BFGs installed today, here's some picks to show how they look & fit. They ride very smooth and the overall road noise is less, haven't got too loose w/ the car yet but gave it a couple good runs and the grip is pretty impressive
