a/v inputs not working?

if you want to let someone watch a movie using the a/v inputs is there some type of special procedure that you have to follow? i've tried to use my video ipod and a portable dvd player for my aux sources. the sound for each works fine but i don't have a picture. if i leave the aux on for thirty seconds i get a message that says video will reappear once the vehicle stops but i never had a picture in the first place. can someone help me figure this out?

Yep, you need to be in park with the emergency brake engaged in order for video to appear on the screen. It's a safety feature so that people don't watch movies while they are driving.

... because we all know how unsafe it is to drive and watch movies when we're trying to talk on the phone, eat a breakfast sandwich and apply makeup, all at the same time.

you got 3 cables to go into the connection right? 2 for the Audio and one for Video (and putting it in P would help)
