Clicking Noise in Steering Column

I have noticed this and its starting to get annoying.

Some times when the car is cold and you accelerate, the steering column clicks. Its the wierdest things and its loud and noticable.

Car is an 08 G35xS.

I dont know if anyone else has had this problem or what? But i figured id ask before going to the dealer.

My steering had a creaking/popping noise, even at a stop, when turning the wheel. I could almost feel some of the clicks through the wheel and it became very loud. Luckily I could reproduce it (happens about 40% of the time) to the dealer and they replaced the whole steering rack. Now it is quiet and smooth!

Thats kinda what happens

I found if i floor it once or twice, it goes away... then starts up later. Its the wierdest thing.

Might have to take it to the dealer.

it's probably your steering shaft, there's some play in it. Just bring it to the dealer, they should replace it. It's what happened to my gf's 05 camry. If it doesn't get fixed, the sound will get worse.

The steering wheel in my Jeep Grand Cherokee used to click in the cold weather when I turned it.
It was caused by the clock spring.

My G doesn't click at all when turning. It does suffer from that little click down when you first put downward pressure on it, after it has self adjusted.
After that, no clicks here.

Reading your post again, my problem was probably not similar. My noise came from the front suspension and not the steering column.

Im having noise in my front suspension right now. It happens whenever i go over a speed buck. Its like a toad creeping. thats the best i can describe it. It happens only in the winter time and now its happening again since it got cold. I cant pin point it out cause the dealership looked at it alreadyy.

happens to me sometimes on a cold morning. after a few speed bumps it goes away. The metal contracts with the cold weather and expands once it heats up, thus the sound goes away.
