Headlight Out

Three weeks ago, my passenger side headlamp went out so I took it to the dealer. I had to leave it for two days because they had to order an "igniter." The service guy then called me and said it wasn't the bulb or the igniter, but a fuse. According to him, there is a separate fuse for each headlamp (although I assume this fuse is part of the headlight assembly because I can't find one in the fuse block). (BTW, they charged for me for the replacement of the fuse).

Well, the other night it went out again & I'm going to have to take it back in.

My guess there is a short somewhere, but curious if anyone has had this issue.

Why'd they charge you for the fuse? Pretty clearly a warranty item to me??

Looking back at the bill again, it appears they did not charge me for the fuse or installation. I got an oil change, tire rotation, etc. at the same time. The bill is a little hard to figure out at first glance because of the way the charges are broken down. Can't complain about my dealer because they always give me a loaner no matter what.

My passenger side headlight died on me about 2 weeks ago. I initially thought it was the bulb. I had to leave the car over the weekend as they had to order the part. According to the rep I needed a new ballast. He couldn't go into any further details. Everything was covered under warranty.
