That unit in the trunk looks very much like a stripped down satellite receiver. There is a card slot on the right and many of the connections on the front look like the connections on the back of a typical receiver.

hey guuys, this is why the impul and bravery ecu's arent that special and it made feel alot better lol
As for the ecu, they really are nothing special - here is why. All the firms in Japan use reflash software developed by a company called Techtom. Mines, Amuse, Impul, Central 20, etc etc - all use the same software, they just do their own mapping. In the US, Techtom is distributed by Technosquare in California. At the end of the day you will find none of these ecu's really do anything magical vs one another, and tend to be expensive versions of what we already can easily get here if you wanted. I don't know if they offer anything for the US cars yet, but it's simply a matter of time, if not already offered.
